Do you know of any Naturally Rearing Breeders you can recommend?

This list is meant to be a guide for those who are looking for a breeder that is breeding for the purpose of supplying naturally reared puppies of optimal health and of excellent mental properties as companion dogs. ("Holistic" means "taking everything into account", as opposed to restricting oneself to certain limitations and traditions in regards to dealing with a problem of complex nature. For a breeder, this particularly means "breeding for long-term health and mental properties" and "rearing the puppies for maximum Imprinting on humans - by giving them more meaningful contact with humans than with other dogs".)

We hope to grow this list dramatically and fast. If you know of any breeder from whom you have experienced an open mind and holistic attitude, then please fill in this form and submit it to us so we can expand the list. If you are in doubt what makes a holistic breeder different from an "ordinary" breeder, then check if your candidate breeder is practicing the following:

  • Feeding all dogs a raw natural diet, puppies included. Holistic breeders do so because they know there really should be no alternative, regardless what the representatives of the pet food industry want you to believe.

  • Abstaining from any cruel fashion-rooted practices, such as ducking of tails and cropping of ears.

  • Supporting and encouraging the mother and the other adult dogs to take of the weaning by regurgitating semi-digested food for the puppies.

  • Rearing the puppies in a human home, preferably a kitchen or other area where they will get a maximum of human contact. In order to obtain optimal Imprinting on humans, the breeder must ensure that the puppies spend their time awake with humans more than with other dogs, from they are 3 weeks old.

  • Making no attempt to vaccinate any puppy before it is at least 12 weeks old, and then never with multiple/combined vaccines.

  • Involving the puppy buyer in the proper selection of a good match. This must include that the breeder is selective in regards to whom he/she wants to sell puppies to and that he/she has clearly established criteria for qualifying buyers.

If you know of a breeder you know fits one or more of the features of this description, please let us know! By being the sponsor of this information, you help the breeder reach out to more people and help more dogs live a healthy and enjoyable life.

In the following table, the breeders are listed as we have received the information from the sponsor, and the presentation of this information is solely the sponsor's responsibility. The name of the breeder is presented in bold when we have confirmed the listing directly with him/her.

The Sponsor is the person who submitted the listing, and the comments are made by the sponsor. Additional information is available from the sponsor - click on the name, and an e-mail will be prepared. Together with the sponsor is listed the date of the submission and the year of the sponsor's first contact with the breeder (if available).

You will see letters displayed under the name of the breeder. Those letters refer to the holistic qualifications you can expect from this breeder, as per the experience of the sponsor for this listing. The letters stand for:

Small letters indicate lesser certainty from the sponsor's side. A missing letter indicates that the information is not available. A letter in red indicates a breeder from whom you can expect controversy about the topic referred to.

The main goals of these breeders is preserving the breed standard and a very good temperament. The pup I bought from them, is the 3rd generation on raw only. The pups are very well socialized. I highly recommend them as caring, dedicated to the breed.
