Alternatives to on-line payment

If you, for whatever reason, are not in a position where you can make your payment on-line from our web site, then here is an outline of some possible and some unacceptable alternatives.

Please be advised that there is a $10 charge for all manually expedited orders that are based on alternative payments we need to handle individually and manually. On top of that, there is a $25 charge for receiving any other payment than cash or a direct bank deposit.

First, the possible alternatives (click on your choice for more details):

  • You can pay cash.

  • You can pay with a direct bank transfer to an account in Denmark. For people in Europe, this is simple and easy.

  • You can pay with a certified non-negotiable bank draft ("cashier's check") or a money order, obtained from your local post office.

  • You could pay by wire transfer (link opens in new window) - which is only relevant for larger amounts, such as a wholesale order or payment for a special assignment. For a retail order of a book or video, the bank fees are too high to make any sense....

The following payment options, however convenient and attractive they might be to you, are, unfortunately, unacceptable to us, and we shall return or refuse acceptance of such payment, should you try regardless our warning:

  • We do not accept personal checks or any other checks, signed by you personally. If we get them, we destroy them.

  • We do not accept C.O.D.

  • We do not accept payments via Western Union - the closest pick-up location is 3 hours away....

  • We do not accept credit cards that cannot be processed through PayPal.

  • We do not accept any other fancy payment option not mentioned here.

Ordering by phone:

If you do not have a credit card or a PayPal account you can use on-line, we can find other ways of taking your order manually, even cash. You are welcome to give us a call at +1-403-770-1867 so we can help you with the necessary instructions. (If you call from Europe, you may use +45 36 98 02 98 evenings only.)

Be aware that we do not take credit card information over the phone - it is a ridiculous risk for you and a very unnecessary liability for us, as we will have to use that information on-line ourselves, in order to expedite your order - and then you might as well do it yourself via the links on this page! And then we have to take care of destroying the information we got from you.... Paying by credit card via PayPal online is far more secure than any other ways you possibly could use your credit card - physically handing it to a merchant you see in person is far more risky...

Please note that there is a $10 charge for all expediting any off-line orders manually.

Please be aware that you are generally not supposed to send cash in ordinary mail, but you can courier cash - or ask your post office for other mailing options.

If you do indeed send cash in ordinary mail, we shall not reject it, but it is entirely on your risk, as we are not responsible for it going lost or being confiscated. You reduce that risk dramatically by not including any coins, but rounding up the price to the nearest number that can be paid in bills only. In such case, we will not provide any change, but accept the increased price as a tip.

Ordering by mail:

If you do not have a credit card or a checking account you can use on-line, you can always get an International Money Order*) from a nearby post office or bank, where you can pay cash.

Make sure the Money Order is made payable to K9joy and add $25.00 to cover our processing and banking costs. (If anything else than exactly the four letters AAMI is put into the field "Payable to...", we cannot cash your Money Order, and it will be destroyed when we receive it!)

Then send it in an envelope you can trace to this address

Be aware that, regardless the main address being in Canada, the amount is in US funds! (And you will have to pay your local post office in your own currency, so please do not get confused...)

Please enclose with your payment the information we need about you, including:

  • What exactly you order - we need the title and the format (download, CD, print)...
  • Your name and shipping address
  • Your e-mail address
  • Your phone number

*) We do not accept personal cheques, whether drawn on a personal account or a business account - it takes over 6 weeks for the funds to clear and costs the same, so it is a ridiculous way of processing payments...

Ordering through bank transfer:

If you do not want to pay on-line with a credit card, then we can receive your payment on the following bank accounts:

  • Ordering through bank transfer
    to Den Danske Bank in Denmark:

    The bank's SWIFT number is DABADKKK, and the address of its main headquarters is Holmens Kanal 2-12, 1092 København K, Denmark.

    The IBANs are:

    • DK6930004308106108 for DKK ("Danske kroner");

    • DK6930004308122358 for USD ("US Dollars");

    • DK6930004308122367 for EUR ("Euros");

    If you are unfamiliar with the European IBAN system (IBAN = "International Bank Account Number"), then tell your bank clerk that
        - DK693000 is the European equivalent of the
          American SWIFT number (an ID for the bank);
        - 4308 is the ID of the branch (= "Vanløse afdeling");
        - the last 6 digits are the specific account number
          in that branch of that bank.

    If you want to pay in any of the three currencies above, then please use the appropriate IBAN and forget the other two.

    Since we incur bank charges and extra administrative work for receving money this way, please add a handling fee to the amount payable as follows:

    • 40 DKK,
    • 8 USD, or
    • 5 EUR.

    If your bank does not use any of those currencies, or you are being charged an unreasonable exchange fee, then send the funds to the DKK account in your own country's currency after adding 2% to the amount payable, minimum 10 DKK. Den Danske Bank will then automatically transfer the received amount to DKK, for a very reasonable exchange fee - and we can handle it from there.     If you are asked for a name of the account, then use "K9joy", and, in the highly unlikely and unreasonable case of your being asked for an address of the account holder, then don't argue with your bank, but give them 3980C Riverview Road, Creston, BC, V0B 1G2 Canada. And, if they don't like that this address is in Canada, whereas the bank is in Denmark, then give them this address instead: Åbjergvej 2BI, 2720 Vanløse, Denmark.

    to Bank of Montreal in Canada:

    This option is unfortunately not currently available - please use the Danish option, or contact us for other possibilities

You simply transfer an amount in the National curerncy of the bank that corresponds to the price you found on the web page fro the product you want, and you pay for it in your local currency. You are welcome to use our on-line link for the currency exchange to get the right amount. We are fully aware that the exchange rates change every day, but both you and we are willing to ignore that when you pay this way...

Be aware that, before you do your currency conversion, you must add the handling fee for manual expeditions of orders, which is US$10. You simply add that amount to the price, do teh currency conversion, and make teh payment!

When payment has gone through, please keep a copy of your receipt. You then send this copy to us at the e-mail address together with the following information:

  • What exactly it is you order:
    - for e-books, please specify title and format (download, CD, or print);
    - for videos, please specify title and format (PAL, NTSC, or SECAM);
    - for seminars and courses, please specify title, place and time.

  • Your name;

  • Your mailing address;

  • Your phone number (will only be used in emergency cases):

Please do us the favor also of making sure that the name of the bank appear in the subject line of your e-mail - it helps us find your order faster...

When we receive your payment confirmation and your personal information in that e-mail, we will send you a receipt by e-mail - plus the necessary instructions, so you can get what you paid for.
